Search "SEO company in Bhopal" and you'll find dozens of agencies promising page-one rankings in 30 days. Some of them are good. Many sell the same package to every client: a fixed number of backlinks, a monthly report full of graphs, and very little change on your actual website. Choosing well can save you a year of wasted fees.
These are the questions we would ask if we were hiring an SEO agency ourselves.
1. What will you actually do in the first month?
A good answer is specific: a technical audit, fixing indexing problems, setting up Google Search Console, cleaning up your Google Business Profile, researching keywords and rewriting your most important pages. A vague answer like "on-page and off-page optimisation" usually means a template.
2. Which keywords will you target, and why?
Ranking for your own business name is easy and worth very little. Ask which searches they plan to target and how those searches turn into money. For a clinic in Arera Colony, "dermatologist in Bhopal" and "acne treatment Bhopal" are worth far more than a broad term like "skin care". If the agency can't explain the buying intent behind its keyword list, keep looking.
3. Do you guarantee rankings?
The right answer is no. Google doesn't sell guaranteed positions, and nobody outside Google controls the results. Agencies that guarantee a "number one ranking" are usually picking obscure keywords nobody searches for, or using tactics that can get your site penalised later.
4. How do you build links?
Links from other websites still matter, but quality beats quantity. Be wary of packages that promise hundreds of links a month; those usually come from spammy directories and article farms. A good SEO company in Bhopal builds links through local citations, industry associations, partner websites, press coverage and content worth referencing.
5. What will the monthly report show?
Rankings and traffic are useful, but they aren't the goal. Ask whether the report will show enquiries: calls from your Google Business Profile, form submissions, WhatsApp clicks and, where possible, sales. An agency that measures leads is thinking about your business, not just its own dashboard.
6. Who will do the work?
Many agencies sell the contract and outsource the work to freelancers. That isn't automatically bad, but you should know. Ask who writes the content, who handles the technical fixes and who you can call when something breaks. An in-house team usually means fewer things get lost between handovers.
7. Will I own everything?
Your website, Google Business Profile, Search Console and Analytics accounts, and every piece of content should belong to you. If an agency sets these up under its own login, getting them back later can be painful. Make ownership part of the agreement from day one.
A note on timelines
Honest agencies will tell you that SEO takes time. Technical fixes and Business Profile improvements can show results within weeks, but competitive searches in Bhopal usually take three to six months of consistent work. Anyone promising overnight results is either running ads and calling it SEO, or about to disappoint you.
